TVP is short for texturised vegetable protein ( Same as Textured Soy protein). A high-protein ingredient that can be used to make plant-based sausages and vegan-meat patties that can easily replace meat / seafood, one-for-one in vegetarian and vegan meals.
Easy to use instead of mince in vegan fillings, pasta, sandwiches, salads, and wraps. Works great as a vegan alternative to mincemeat/ ground beef.
INSTRUCTIONS TO USE:
- Cover and soak for 10-15 minutes in hot/ boiling water. Ratio is 1 part water : 2 parts TVP granules.
- Squeeze out any remaining liquid over a strainer
- Stir in seasoning, vegetable stock powder, curry powder, onion powder/ paste and tomato paste as required to taste to add color and minced meat texture.
- Add teff flakes/ or cooked teff grains to add crunch and further increase the vegetable protein content.
Keep in the pantry, away from sunlight and dampness. Once opened, store in airtight container.
There is nothing else. No refining or colouring.

Packaging and recycling
Packed in clear foil-backed pouch. Dispose of in soft plastic disposal bins.
